VISIT TO THE IPANEMA FACTORIES

🇧🇷Grendene S/A, is one of the largest shoe manufacturers in the world, present in more than 100 countries with brands such as Ipanema, Azaleia, Cartago, Copacabana, Grendha, Rider or Zaxy.Beyond the comfort and ecological commitment of these products, the group is at the forefront of technological innovation to make them ever more environmentally responsible.

📍 We recently had the privilege of visiting the factories Grendene S/A in Brazil, where our famous IPANEMA flip flops, sandals and slides are made. Each pair is the result of meticulous work, offering exceptional flexibility, resistance and a level of finish.

☀️🌊 To reduce its environmental footprint, Grendene S/A produces part of its energy through fields of solar panels, thus exploiting this abundant resource in Brazil. The rest of the energy required for production comes from hydroelectric sources, reinforcing the commitment to renewable energies.

🌍 Grendene S/A, it is also an eco-responsible approach to water: at the Sobral plant, for example, all wastewater and rain water is recycled and treated thanks to a central lake, thus creating a looped system that reduces the consumption of fresh water in order to preserve this precious natural resource.

🔄 In terms of sustainability, Grendene S/A uses at least 30% recycled PVC in its products, even going up to 100% on certain special projects and goodies. All products are also 100% recyclable and thus contribute to the reduction of waste and the preservation of our planet.

💚 At IPANEMA, the well-being of employees is at the heart of our concerns. Grendene S/A provides its employees with a team of 9 doctors present 24 hours a day, psychologists and physiotherapists. Even better, the 15,000 employees benefit from a balanced and subsidized canteen, and continuing training to promote their professional development.

🌎 With 34 million pairs exported every year, Grendene S/A represents the largest exporter of shoes in Brazil. Each IPANEMA pair is sent to France by boat and carries a bit of the Brazilian sun with it!
