Barbour

BARBOUR is a British family business established in 1894 and which originally made protective clothing for fishermen and sailors that was resistant to the worst of the weather. More than 125 years on, BARBOUR still crafts clothes while respecting its heritage and values of durability, practicality and a unique attention to detail. Its most iconic garment is the waxed cotton jacket.

In 2021, as part of its sustainable development programme, BARBOUR celebrated 100 years of its rewaxing technique, which is designed to extend the life of an item of clothing and limit its impact on the environment. Rewaxing gives a jacket a new lease of life by upcycling it and allowing future generations to carry on wearing it. Every year, over 60,000 jackets are rewaxed and restored by BARBOUR’s specialised after-sales service. The brand is sold in around 40 countries.
